Texas nabs MS-13 gang member and registered sex offender at southern border
On August 3, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents arrested a Honduran man at the Brownsville, Texas, Port of Entry. The man was later identified as a registered sex offender in Florida and a member of the MS-13 gang.
CBP agents found that the man was previously arrested in Florida in 2014 for lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 16. After serving his sentence, the man was removed from the United States. He was then prohibited from reentering the U.S. without authorization.
The man is being processed for federal and state prosecution and is being held in the custody of the CBP. The arrest is part of CBP’s mission to identify known criminals and those that have active fugitive warrants when attempting to illegally enter the United States.
