Mack Trucks employees go on strike after rejecting contract

Mack Trucks employees went on strike on October 13, 2020 after rejecting the company’s proposed contract. The strikes involve about 6,000 members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 677 union in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The UAW members’ primary demands are higher wages, better benefits, and additional job security protections. The strike is the first of its kind against Mack Trucks in almost a decade.
