United Airlines tweaks frequent flyer program to reward credit card spending
United Airlines has recently tweaked its MileagePlus frequent flyer program in an effort to reward customers for spending on its co-branded credit cards. United now offers customers bonus miles when they purchase a flight with their co-branded credit card. The number of miles awarded will vary based on the purchase. Additionally, customers will now get double miles when they pay for flights with their credit card. The program also features an online portal for tracking bonuses and miles earned, and members can transfer miles to family members or to a charity of their choosing.
