Trump’s improved image: Is it approval — or amnesia?
The recent polling indicating an improved image around Donald Trump among some groups of voters has led to questions about whether it is indicative of genuine approval or simply a case of collective amnesia. It is clear that the President’s polarizing nature will always leave some people firmly in support and many more firmly in opposition. The true test of Mr. Trump’s improved image will be at the ballot box, and will ultimately answer this question. In the event of a successful re-election bid, it can be seen as an endorsement of his tenure in office and an endorsement of his vision for the country. If he loses, then it could be argued that the improved image is the result of media fatigue and the public forgetting the President’s more extreme behavior in the past.
