Taiwan Police Target Crypto Influencers Linked to Polymarket Election Betting

Recent reports out of Taiwan have revealed that police have launched a major investigation into the “influencers” who promoted a cryptocurrency betting site called Polymarket. According to police reports, the site was associated with an election scandal involving the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to gamble on election results. In recent weeks, police have raided numerous people in an effort to uncover more information about the scandal. As of now, it is unclear whether the suspects have been charged or not, but it appears that the investigation is still ongoing. If found guilty, the suspects may face heavy fines, jail time, or both. Police have reportedly also requested cooperation from various cryptocurrency exchanges in the country in an effort to trace transactions associated with this scandal.
