Crypto Expert Chosen by Erdogan for Turkey’s Central Bank Board
The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has chosen Professor Şaban Nazli for the central bank’s new board of directors. Nazli is a Professor of Economics and Business Administration at Istanbul Medipol University, and specializes in Islamic banking, money and banking, and international economics. He has written a book about the banking and finance system of Gulen’s Hizmet movement and is known as a crypto-currency expert. In 2013, he founded an online consultancy, ‘Kripto Teknik Ltd.’ to provide leading-edge services around the digital economy. He has also authored numerous articles and webinars related to financial markets, central banking, and macroeconomics. He is expected to use his deep knowledge of central banking and his extensive contacts in the world’s banking and finance sector to bring new insights and dynamism to the board.
