DeSantis, Haley pledge to pardon Trump if he’s convicted
Florida’s outgoing Governor Ron DeSantis and Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez have both pledged to pardon President Donald Trump if he is convicted of any federal crimes. Governor DeSantis stated, “I’ve been clear that if there’s any serious criminality and any case they want him to be in, well, I would entertain it. … Obviously, you want to know exactly what happened, but if it became necessary, I would certainly do it.” Lieutenant Governor Nunez added, “Given the chance to do so, absolutely. I believe anyone should be allowed due process, and have the opportunity to stand before a court of law.”
