Israeli president defends airstrikes in Gaza, killing Hamas operatives: ‘We are fighting terror’
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu has defended the airstrikes that killed a number of Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip. He said: “We are determined to defend our people against the terrorist organizations that are attacking us. We are fighting terror and restoring security and calm for the citizens of Israel.” The Israeli Prime Minister also called for a resumption of the Israel-Palestine peace process, saying, “This is the only way to achieve a lasting peace.”
