Trump’s speech will be limited to protect trial, witnesses, judge orders
In his comments on the upcoming trial of former President Donald Trump, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that “as it relates to the Senate trial, … President Biden will not comment on the trial itself to ensure the fairness of the process, to maintain the impartiality of those involved, and to respect and protect the rights of witnesses, the judge’s orders and other participants in the process.”
In other words, President Biden will not interject his opinion of the trial during the process in order to guarantee a fair outcome. He will respect the rights of participants by not making any prejudicial statements that could sway the jury’s decision or influence the outcome of the trial. This will also show respect for the authorities involved in the proceedings.
