Gen X is not the Trumpiest generation
This is mainly because Gen Xers were born between 1965 and 1980, and by the time of the 2016 presidential election, the majority of them were within the 36- to 56-year-old age range. The majority of Generational X-ers are actually independent voters, who more often choose not to align with either major political party. Millennials (born between 1981 and 1996) are more likely to be associated with the more progressive politics of the Democratic Party, and have the most significant percentage of voters among all the generations.
