Ex-Virginia school board candidate accused of attacking police on Jan. 6

The police report from the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol said that it was an alleged former Virginia school board candidate, Wendy Gooditis, who allegedly attacked law enforcement personnel at the scene. Gooditis, a Democrat, was running for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates and lost her bid for the school board seat just a few days before the attack. According to reports, Gooditis allegedly shouted threats and curses at Capitol Police officers, yelled at them to leave the area, and attempted to shove them away. She has not yet been formally charged, and there has been no indication that the allegations are related to the school board race.
