Democrat Rep Eric Swalwell calls House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry a ‘continuation of the insurrection’
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has accused House Republicans of engaging in a “continuation of the insurrection” by attempting to derail the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Swalwell made the remark while defending Democrats’ impeachment efforts ahead of a vote on a Republican-led resolution to censure House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff. Republicans claim Schiff has not been sufficiently transparent about the inquiry and that he has violated House rules. Swalwell, however, argued that the impeachment process is “a continuation of the peaceful resolution to uphold our Constitution and protect our nation.”
