Sen. Cotton: ‘Massive retaliation’ against Iran needed to end attacks on US assets

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) has called for “massive retaliation” against Iran in response to its recent attacks on American assets in the Persian Gulf. In an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Cotton advocated for “overwhelming force” to ensure Iran does not continue its belligerent behavior.

“We need to respond with overwhelming force, destroying their naval vessels, their military bases,” Cotton said. “We need to hit them with enough force and with enough projection that they would know that the cost of further attacks on US assets in the Middle East, or anywhere else, would outweigh any benefit they think they would gain by doing so.”

Cotton went on to emphasize that the United States should not hesitate to act, and that President Donald Trump should use “all the tools of American power” to take decisive action against the Iranian regime. He warned that if the United States fails to act swiftly and decisively, it will be seen as weak and further embolden Iran’s aggressive behavior.
