House Judiciary investigating whether Fulton County DA Fani Willis ‘coordinated’ with Jan 6 committee

The House Judiciary Committee has announced that it is launching an investigation into whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis coordinated with the Jan 6 commission in the prosecution of former president Donald Trump and the commission which was formed to investigate the events surrounding the Jan 6th Capitol riot. The probe comes after a letter was sent from the Committee to Willis, asking her to provide documents and information related to her communication with the commission. In a statement, Committee Chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said: “Given the importance of this investigation and the historic actions emanating from it, we must ensure that this investigation has been conducted free from any attempt to influence the prosecution or otherwise coordinate between the Commission and the Office of the District Attorney.” Willis is currently leading an investigation into whether Trump and his allies violated Georgia’s election laws in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election.
