Peter Navarro convicted of contempt for defying Jan. 6 panel subpoena
On April 12, 2021, a federal judge in Washington, D.C. found former White House trade adviser Peter Navarro in contempt for refusing to comply with subpoenas issued by the House Oversight Committee. The contempt charge was for his refusal to provide documents and testimony regarding his role in the Trump administration’s plan to overturn the 2020 election results. The judge imposed a $200,000 fine and gave Navarro 30 days to comply with the orders or face more penalties.
