Rep. Bowman says there must be ‘clear distinction’ between Israel’s citizens, government
Rep. Mike Bowman (R-TX) says that it is crucial for the United States to “make a clear distinction between the citizens of Israel and its government.” In an interview with The Hill, Bowman said that it is “critical” for the U.S. to take a “position of neutrality” when it comes to the Middle East and to protect American interests. He stated that while the U.S. should remain friends with Israel, it is important to remember that “the two countries will have their differences” and that the United States “should advocate for our own country first.” Bowman also stressed the importance of continuing to “further the diplomatic relationships between the two nations.” Lastly, he emphasized that it is important for the United States to “speak out on both sides of the issue” in order to remain respected and taken seriously.
