GS Partners Accused of Defrauding Crypto Investors in Metaverse Schemes

Two former members of the Global EOS (GEOS) Partners have been accused of defrauding cryptocurrency investors in schemes relating to the blockchain-based virtual world Metaverse. The two defendants, Lucas Warrier and Samuel Warren, are accused of “willfully and fraudulently deceiving public investors,” and of “conspiring to coordinate the trading and promotion of securities in the Metaverse marketplace.” The U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission have since filed charges against the pair in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York. If convicted, Warrier and Warren could face up to 15 years in prison and millions of dollars in fines.
